Agaete is a municipality found on the north-western coast of Gran Canaria and is known for being the only place in Europe to grow coffee crops. It is also the site of a yearly festival, the Bajada de la Rama fiesta, which has over 100,000 Canarians visiting from all over the region to participate. It used to be known as an ancient place for prayer by the original inhabitants of the island and was declared a protected space in 1987. There is a route around the Roque Nublo, which allows visitors to get there via a short hike while passing other rugged cliffs such as Rl Roque del Fraile and Roque de la Rana.
Las Salinas de Agaete are natural rock pools filled with saltwater, described as a fortress-like site connected through volcanic tubes. Getting from the airport to Agaete
Agaete is about 56 kilometers from the airport by car and can be reached in several ways. A rental car can easily be arranged upon arrival at the Las Palmas Airport, which can be a cost-efficient way to arrive at the final destination. Another option is to take a taxi, which can cost up to 58€ on average, with the drive taking an estimated 50 minutes to arrive.
The line 103 bus from the airport also heads to Agaete and is a much more economical way of traveling. This trip takes around 10€ but can take about 2 hours and 10 minutes before arriving. A prearranged shuttle can also be organized, which will take guests from the airport directly to the lobby of the hotel.
