Jarno is an author at canaryislandsinfo.co.uk. He is an avid traveler and have been to many adventures around the globe. His interest in the Canary Islands dates back to when he first visited the place and he was immediately enchanted by the history, the culture, and the many spectacular cuisine that the islands offer.
He spends a lot of his time in the water. He also love to swim, surf, sail, and go fishing. He has learned many of the fishing techniques from the old fishermen of Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife which is an old fishing town. Apart from that, he also loves to visit the old churches scattered in the island. He marvels at the grandiosity of the history and the colonial architecture that has been preserved for many centuries. When Jarno just wants to relax, he sits by the many plazas in the old towns and just watch people go by. He enjoys talking to the locals and learning from them.
Food is also one of Jarno’s many interests. He frequents the street food stalls and the restaurants alike and loves every version of paella that the islands have to offer. Jarno knows how to enjoy his time in the Canary Islands. He visits museums and galleries and talks to local artists about their craft. He has always been and will always be fascinated by the culture of the islands; its mixture of Spanish, African, and Latin American heritage have made it into a colorful melting pot of tradition, passion, and history, one which he’s truly captivated by. Jarno’s goal is for people to get to know the Canary Islands the way that he knew it and that they, too, will experience the richness and abundance of its culture and the warmth of its people.
